Is Personal Best an open gym, or is it for private (1-on-1) clients only?
Actually we’re a hybrid of the two! Personal Best hosts carefully designed workouts for small groups — currently limited to just four people at a time — to give you the benefits of 1-on-1 private training at the cost of an open gym membership. Each class is supervised by your trainer, with instructions for each exercise and feedback on technique, to help you and your classmates stay safe and get the most out of your workouts.
Can I just show up to a class, or do I have to schedule an appointment?
Personal Best members attend classes at specific times on specific days. Our system increases your participation, and it ensures the small class size that makes our supervised training so affordable.
What kind of exercise will I do in Personal Best classes?
Personal Best workouts include stretches, strength-focused exercises, and aerobic-conditioning exercises. We use your own bodyweight, barbells, dumbbells, pull-up bars, gymnastics rings, sandbags, medicine balls, jump ropes and more.
What if I don’t know how to do the exercises?
During your free initial consultation, we’ll ask about your health and perform a general fitness screening. From that point onward, we’ll teach you how to do our exercises safely and effectively. Then we’ll make sure that you get better at them, and have fun in the process!
I’m really out of shape. Are Personal Best’s workouts too hard for me?
No way! By scaling our workouts to suit each client’s needs, we have been able to help people who have survived cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, knee injuries, shoulder injuries, wrist injuries, ankle injuries, asthma and more. We can help you, too!
I’m in really good shape. Are Personal Best’s workouts too easy for me?
No way! By scaling our workouts to suit each client’s needs, we have been able to challenge even seasoned athletes, including triathletes, cyclists, marathoners, martial artists, baseball and football players, and more. We can challenge you, too!
Are Personal Best’s workouts safe?
Absolutely! Your safety is of supreme importance to us, which is why we always focus on learning proper technique before pushing for greater intensity.
What kind of health benefits can I expect from Personal Best’s training?
Our combination of strength training, aerobic conditioning and stretching can improve a wide array of health factors, including improved body composition, greater bone density, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, decreased joint pain, more satisfying sleep, improved mood, greater confidence, and more.
How soon can I expect to begin noticing these changes?
Depending on how many classes you attend each week — and especially if you follow our other healthy lifestyle recommendations — you should begin to notice at least some of these changes in about a month. Of course, the amount and degree of these benefits both increase, the longer and more frequently you train with Personal Best.
Do I need to buy any supplements to see results?
No! Quality exercise, quality food and quality rest are really all you need to attain outstanding fitness. We won’t sell you supplements because most are unnecessary, ineffective, or even harmful. Other gyms and trainers may be happy to sell you promises in a bottle, but Personal Best sells intense training in a friendly environment – period!
